Recipe: Oat Soup

Oat Soup
(My Mother made this for us during the Depression. It is good.)

1/2 cup Margarine or Butter
2 cups quick-cooking rolled Oats
2 quarts Water
1 teaspoon Salt

Melt butter in skillet. Add oats and brown until golden. (Do not let burn.)
Cool.
Meanwhile, bring water and salt to a boil in saucepan. Add Oats. Cook for 5
minutes.
Serves 6
NOTE: You may make this soup as thick or thin as you like. Use less water for a
thicker soup. Use more water for a thinner soup.
