OPEN-FACE BURGER BAKE
1 pound ground beef
1 cup dairy sour cream
2/3 cup salad dressing or mayonnaise
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup cold water
2 to 3 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease oblong pan, 13x9x2 inches.
Cook and stir ground beef until light brown; drain and set aside.
Mix sour cream, salad dressing, cheese and onion; set aside.
Stir baking mix and water to a soft dough; beat vigorously 20 strokes. Pat dough in pan, pressing dough 1/2 inch up sides of pan. Layer beef, tomatoes and green pepper on dough; spoon sour cream mixture over top. If desired, sprinkle with paprika.
Bake until edges of dough are light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
High Altitude (5000 feet): Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Bake about 25 minutes.
