Recipe(tried): Chocolate Half Moons - The real thing!

I remember getting Hemstrought's Half Moon cookies at the grocery store in Ithaca as a kid. After many years of searching for the original recipe - THESE are IT!!! Soft, almost like a cake but with that thick butter cream frosting. The only thing I can't seem to get exact is the chocolate frosting - the originals seemed to have a thicker, fudg-ier frosting. Still so close it doesn't matter! I'm even considering them instead of a wedding cake - we LOVE them that much!
