Recipe: Orange Waffles (Quality Dairy, 1954)
Breakfast and BrunchORANGE WAFFLES
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons grated orange rind (optional)
3 eggs, separated
1/4 cup butter, melted
sour cream and syrup or marmalade (optional, for serving)
Sift together dry ingredients and add milk, sour cream, grated orange rind, egg yolks whipped lightly and butter. Fold in beaten egg whites.
Bake in preheated waffle iron.
Serve topped with sour cream and syrup or marmalade.
Makes 6 double waffles
