Recipe: Parmesan-Garlic Bagel Chips, Bagel Chips, Onion Bagel Chips

PARMESAN-GARLIC BAGEL CHIPS

4 plain bagels
Butter-flavored vegetable cooking spray
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1-1/2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Cut each bagel into 2 half-circles using a serrated knife. Cut each half-circle horizontally into 1/4-inch thick slices. Place slices on a wire rack. Place rack on a baking sheet. Coat slices with cooking spray.

Combine cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder; sprinkle evenly over bagel slices.

Bake at 325 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp; let cool. Store in an airtight container.

BAGEL CHIPS

1 bagel
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp cumin
1/8 tsp oregano
1/8 tsp fat-free Parmesan cheese
1/8 tsp chili powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (or toaster oven works fine).

With a sharp knife, slice bagel into very thin slices so that you can almost see through them (you'll get about 10 slices). Place slices on a baking sheet. Lightly spray with cooking spray. Quickly sprinkle in a small amount of seasoning (a little goes a long way) or leave plain.

Bake for 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned-be careful; they burn easily. Break each slice into 4 chips.

ONION BAGEL CHIPS
Makes 32 chips

2 (3 1/2-oz) plain bagels
2 tablespoons margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Cut each bagel in half vertically, using an electric knife. Place one bagel half, cut side down, on a flat surface; cut vertically into 8 slices. Repeat procedure with remaining bagel halves. Place slices on baking sheet.

Combine margarine and onion powder and brush over bagels.

Bake at 325 degrees F for 20 minutes or until golden and crisp. Remove from pan; cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
