POTICA CAKE
FOR THE FILLING
1 1/2 cup ground nuts
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
FOR THE CAKE
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 pint sour cream
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.
To make the filling, in a bowl, combine ground nuts, brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
To prepare the cake batter, cream butter, add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy and well mixed. Beat in eggs; set aside.
Sift flour with baking powder and baking soda; add to batter alternately with sour cream. Stir in vanilla.
TO ASSEMBLE AND BAKE:
Spoon in 1/3 of batter into prepared pan, top with half of nut mixture. Spoon in remaining batter. Swirl filling through batter with a knife.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. May be removed from pan immediately.
Makes 1 (10-inch) tube or Bundt cake, 8 servings
