Recipe: Puffy Ham and Cheese Omelet (serves 2)
Breakfast and BrunchPUFFY HAM AND CHEESE OMELET
"This tasty omelet is perfect for breakfast or a quick dinner."
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Durkee Minced Onion
1 teaspoon Durkee Dill Weed
1/8 teaspoon Durkee Ground White Pepper
1 tablespoon butter OR margarine
1/2 cup cubed cooked ham
1/2 cup shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheese
Preheat broiler to high.
Beat eggs with milk and salt until foamy. Stir in onions, dill weed and white pepper.
Melt butter in a small oven-safe skillet. Add ham and cook (stovetop) until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes.
Pour in eggs, mixing a little to blend. Cook 2 minutes over medium heat until bottom is set. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the eggs.
Broil, about 4-inches from burner, 3 to 4 minutes until cheese is golden and omelet is puffed and cooked through. Serve immediately.
