Recipe: Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock French Toast

SAMUEL ADAMS CHOCOLATE BOCK FRENCH TOAST
FOR THE FRENCH TOAST:
1 loaf of hearty, country-style bread, uncut
6 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock beer
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Butter and powdered sugar for garnish, optional
FOR THE TOPPING:
1 1/2 cups real maple syrup
1/2 cup Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock beer
Cut bread into 1/2-inch thick-slices. Mix eggs, cream, vanilla, beer and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
Heat large, non-stick skillet or griddle to medium heat.
Soak bread slices in egg mixture until heavily saturated. Place in buttered skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
FOR THE TOPPING:
Mix syrup and beer until desired thickness is achieved.
Top French toast with Chocolate Bock syrup and the butter and powdered sugar if desired.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
