Recipe: Re: Southwest Party
Misc.Margaret, I keep trying to copy my recipes out of my mastercook cookbook, but it won'tlet me so I guess I will try to type a few. Here goes:
MEXICAN LAYERED DIP
2 large avocados (ripe)
1/8 tsp each of garlic powder & garlic salt
1 T lemon juice
2 T mayonaise
1 cup sour cream 1 jar picante sauce (drain liquid)
3/4 cup sliced black olives
3 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 1/2 cups shredded chedder cheese
crisp bacon, crumbled
1 16oz can refried beans
Peel, seed and mash avocados; stir in garlic, lemon juice and mayo. Spread on large plate. Spread sour cream over avocdo mixture. Drain the picante sauce, spoon over sour cream. Top wih layers of olives & tomatoes, sprinkle with cheese & bacon. Force refried beans through pastry tube or plastic bagie with a small snip in the corner, to make a festive boder around the edge of plate. You can add dollops of sour cream on top with ripe olive in the sour cream. Serve with tortilla chips This has always been a favorite of my guests.
Enjoy!
