Recipe(tried): Relish Tray

How timely. I just assisted a co-worker in setting up for a baby shower last Saturday. We had small dishes of mints and pretzels at each table. Someone also made appetizers that had a slice of cucumber sitting on top of a slice of party rye bread. There were also appetizers consisting of small ham salad sandwiches that were quartered and crusts removed from the bread. This was in addition to the considerable quantity of food that the coordinator had prepared. She also had wrapped Hershey kisses in mesh & we put several packets on each table. I would say prepare as much as you can ahead of time for anything that's not perishable. We wound up with fewer preparers than we had anticipated. We had pink & white paper lace doilies that we used at each table, also. Another thing that we found was that we needed such things as tape, stapler, additional string, etc. Fortunately, our party was being held which acts as a daycare during the week and we raided the teacher's desk for some of these items.
