Recipe: Rocky Road Brownies (using brownie mix) (Betty Crocker, 1987)

ROCKY ROAD BROWNIES
(Brownies with rocky road frosting.)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake 1 package Betty Crocker brownie supreme mix as directed; cool.

Prepare Rocky Road Topping (below) and spread over top of cooled brownie base. Refrigerate t least 2 hours. Refrigerate any remaining brownies.

Cut into 1 1/2 or 2-inch squares.

ROCKY ROAD TOPPING:
1 (6 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons milk
2 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup salted peanuts

Heat chocolate chips and margarine in 3-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted; remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar and milk. Beat until smooth. Stir in marshmallows and peanuts.

Makes 48 or 24 brownies
