Recipe: Sea Island Salad (macaroni salad with tuna and peas)

Salads - Potato, Pasta
This recipe is similar to the one posted by Julie, in Iowa; but is more 'from scratch'; it was an ad in a 1971 Woman's Day magazine, featuring Creamettes Macaroni and Green Giant Peas

SEA ISLAND SALAD

1 (7 ounce) package Creamettes Macaroni
1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1 (7 oz) can tuna, drained
1 (17 oz) can Green Giant Brand Sweet Peas, drained
3/4 cup diced mild Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons minced green pepper
1 tablespoon diced pimento

Cook Creamettes according to directions on package; drain.

Stir in mayonnaise or salad dressing blended with sour cream and seasonings. Gently stir in Green Giant Brand Peas and remaining ingredients.

Chill thoroughly.

VARIATION:
One cup diced chicken may be substituted for tuna.

Makes 6 to 8 servings
