Recipe: Snow Griddle Cakes
Misc. I found this recipe in the Old Farmer's Almanac Colonial Cooking. Thought that it would be fun to do with all of the kids home from school.
Snow Griddle Cakes
To 6T four, add a little salt and 6T of light, fresh-fallen snow. Stir flour and snow well together and add sweet milk (I think as opposed to buttermilk or soured milk). Bake batter in small cakes on griddle, using very little butter. Cakes may be eaten with butter and sugar, or with sryup, and are very delicate.
Enjoy, Julie
