Recipe: Sour Cream Swiss Steak

Sour Cream Swiss Steak
We love Swiss steak! I'm going to try this recipe next time I make it.

2 lbs. round steak, cut in serving-size pieces
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp. butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
3/4 cup water
3 tbsp. soy sauce
3 tbsp. brown sugar
3/4 cup sour cream

Preheat oven 300 degrees. Dust steak pieces with flour and pound to 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, and dry mustard.

Heat oil and butter in pan until it foams. Add meat and brown. Add onion, garlic, water, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sour cream.

Put in baking dish, cover, and bake 45 minutes to 1 hour or until meat is tender.
