Recipe: Spicy Apple Bread (using dried apples) (bread machine)

SPICY APPLE BREAD

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
3 cups bread flour
1/3 cup cut-up dried apples
2 tablespoons dry milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice*
2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color.

Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.

*Apple Pie Spice can be made by mixing 2 parts cinnamon with 1 part nutmeg to equal the amount called for.

Makes one (1 1/2 pound) loaf
