Recipe(tried): Spiked Watermelon - Why didnt this work for me?

I tried this, and before just turning th bottle over, thought I would pour in a shot and see how quickly it absorbed. It didnt. What the heck? I can only imagine its because I used a seedless watermelon. So, my advice, dont try this with a seedless watermelon (I also put the hole at the end where the vine was cut off...could that be the trouble?) YIKES.
