Recipe(tried): Stained glass help
CraftsHi Poosha,
I just saw this message.
First off some ideas for stained glass patterns .... look in your local store they useually have some free patterns.
Second on the net there are places to find them but it has been years since I've looked in to that a google search should give you some
Make up your own .... start with simple designs like coloring books -- you can advance to pretty pictures on the web too -- or even your favorite cardmaking programs like broaderbunds printshop -- look at graphics in coloring book mode study the lines (concave are hard.) Once you find somthing that intersets you print and then add cutting lines to it -- continue one line to intersect with another.
Words of caution ... start small, and watch the ballance of horisontal lines and vertical lines -- I made a VERY dramatic piece making up my own pattern and found it to be weak because I had too many vertical lines causing the piece to be weak -- I realised it part way through so I did add some interesecting horisontalcut lines -- (unfortunatly that piece as as so many was broken in time)
Always add one or 2 or even three boarders to a piece useing the horizontal/vertical lines to strenghten the piece.
I'm glad to share more if you would like -- betsy can connect us if you are interested.
I had put aside my tools -- I tend to find a hobby concur and move on but stained glass was always a favorite!

If you would like me to help with a conversion of a graphic or picture -- I'd love to help e-mail me!
