Recipe: Stewed Hamburgers
Sandwiches Stewed Hamburgers
1 lb. ground chuck
1 egg
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 small onion, coarsely chopped
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
Mix ground chuck with egg, garlic, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4. tsp pepper and breadcrumbs. Form into small, flat patties and fry until done. Remove from skillet.
In pan drippings saute onions and green pepper until soft (butter may be added if not enough drippings).
Add tomatoes and bring to a boil; turn down heat and simmer minutes 45 on low or until veggies are "stewed". Small amounts of water maybe be added at intervals if too dry.
