Recipe(tried): stir fry variation

Menus

Last night we had stir fry.

I marinated a little steak in a little red wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic and worstishire (sorry about that spelling)sauce, salt, pepper and basil, for about 1/2 hour. (---splashes of each until the meat was coated with the mix)

I browned the steak in a large wok-like frying pan and added chopped mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, celery, green onions and green pepper to the meat.

Once the veggies got a little tender, I mixed together a package of dry vegetable soup mix with 2 TBSP flour and 2 cups cold water then added that to the mixture. Bring that to a boil and simmer until the veggies are ready to eat (we like them to still be firm but not crisp).

I then added some pre cooked fusilli pasta and simmered again until the pasta was warm. Served with garlic bread and it was yummy...no left-overs for lunch this morning!

The veggie soup mix gives the dish a real veggie flavour, I let it thicken to almost gravey consistancy. With the exception of the marinating time, the meal took about 20 minutes to make, greate for when you're in a rush after work.

Enjoy!
