Thanks for this keeper, Gina! I made it for dinner last night. Of course not being able to leave any recipe alone, I did add salt and pepper to the tomato mixture at the beginning.
DH LOVED it and so did I. I kept thinking that for a heartier dinner meal, you could throw some cooked crumbled Italian sausage between the layers, and next time I'll do that.
