"Jan L. from Lincoln sent in a Tastee Sandwich recipe that may be what Trish B. of Lincoln wanted. Marie H. of York also sent in a Famous Tastee Sandwich, which is a slightly different version."
TASTEE SANDWICH
5 pounds ground beef, brown and drain
1 cup onion, chopped
3 tablespoons mustard (heaping)
3 tablespoons cream style horseradish (heaping)
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (heaping)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Accent
1 cup water
Add all ingredients to meat and cook on low heat 15 minutes and boil 25 minutes stirring often. Serve on buns.
FAMOUS TASTEE SANDWICH
5 pounds hamburger
3/4 cup ketchup
3 teaspoons mustard
3 teaspoons cream-style horseradish
3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons salt (or less)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 to 1 cup warm water
1 heaping teaspoon Accent
Cook the hamburger (but do not brown), and drain the grease. Add the other ingredients and simmer. Be sure to include Accent. Serve on buns with any combination of mustard, ketchup, pickles and others. Freezes well.
