TURKEY WITH A TWIST
1/2 cup minced onion
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 cups prepared Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing, Original Flavor
1 1/2 cups cubed, cooked turkey
3 ounces twisted noodles (rotini pasta, spinach flavor if available)
1/2 of a 10 ounce package frozen peas, thawed
1/3 cup canned diced green chiles, drained
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)
1 teaspoon oregano
3 tablespoons bread crumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine
Tomato wedges (optional, for garnish)
Saute onion in butter until tender.
Stir in flour and cook until smooth and bubbly; remove from heat.
Combine salad dressing, turkey, noodles, peas, chiles, pepper and oregano. Stir in onion mixture. Pour into shallow 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Mix bread crumbs and butter and sprinkle over casserole.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Garnish top with tomato wedges if desired.
Makes 6 servings

I found this recipe in a Hidden Valley Ranch booklet that I was looking through for salad recipes for Monday's Recipe Swap topic. If you have time, can you tell us if the pasta is used uncooked or cooked before putting into the casserole and baking? The recipe didn't say and I'd be tempted to cook it al dente before using.
