Recipe(tried): Using Fresh Herbs
Herbs and Spices Hi Diane,
When I substitute fresh herbs for dry I use 1 Tablespoon of fresh for every teaspoon of dry.
Fresh basil tastes great on all sorts of things. Just stack up the leaves and roll them lengthwise and cut them. This is great over any pasta, bruschetta or panzanella.
You could also make homemade pesto with your basil leaves. I plant black opal and cinnamon basil, they are wonderful!
Chives are great in omelettes, over salad, anywhere you would use chopped onion. Fold finely chopped chives (or any herb for that matter) into whipped butter and spread over fresh bread or bagels.
There are so many things you can do with fresh herbs, you will have so much fun, Good Luck!
