Hi Brandy,
Here's the closest recipe I could find to what you described. It doesn't call for molasses but maybe you can substitute it for the brown sugar.
Whipped Turnip Casserole
3 lbs. fresh yellow turnips
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Few grains pepper
3 eggs
1 cup soft bread crumbs (flavored)
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Wash turnips, pare and cut into about 1/2 inch slices. Cook, covered, in a large pot in a small amount of boiling water. Boil at medium - takes about 20 minutes - or until tender. Watch close. Drain thoroughly, mash turnips while hot, add margarine, sugar, salt and pepper. Beat with electric mixer until blended. Add eggs one at a time and continue beating until soft and fluffy. Stir in bread crumbs and lemon juice. Pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole. Bake, uncovered, 375 degree oven - 50 minutes. Top lightly brown.
