My Cantonese is not excellent, because I can only say a few greetings, order dim sum or ask where the washroom is LOL dh speaks Hakka, so I'm only marginally better at that! [;-)] I am so sorry to hear that your Grandma passed away. Please be good to yourself & remember she will always be in your heart. I can wait for the recipe [no rush]. This time I know you got it because you described it perfectly!
Since you do so much for a lot of people on this I wanted to thank you with a recipe I barbeque on the grill in the summertime or you can put it in the oven. It's a Canadian recipe so it's not very 'international' but its goooooooood! ;-)
Take care, Lily
HONEY-GLAZED CHICKEN (4-6 servings)
c flour
1 tsp salt
tsp cayenne
tsp pepper
1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 lbs) cut up
c butter, melted, divided
c packed brown sugar
c honey c lemon juice
1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp curry powder
In a bowl/bag, mix flour, salt + cayenne; add chicken pieces; dredge/ shake to coat. Pour 4 tbsp of melted butter in 13x9x2 pan; put chicken pieces in pan, turning once to coat. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 30 min. Mix brown sugar, honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, curry powder and remaining butter; pour on chicken. Bake 45 min more or until chicken is tender, basting several times with pan drippings.
