Recipe: French's Patio Brownies with Chocolate Icing (using unsweetened chocolate)

FRENCH'S PATIO BROWNIES

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons French's Vanilla Extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoons salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
Chocolate Icing (recipe follows)

Combine butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating until light and fluffy. Add chocolate and vanilla extract.

Combine flour and salt; add to mixture. Stir in nuts.

Spread batter in greased 10x15-inch jelly-roll pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Set pan on rack to cool.

When cool spread with Chocolate Icing.

CHOCOLATE ICING

1 cup sifted confectioners sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
2 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon French's Vanilla Extract
About 2 tablespoons milk

Combine all ingredients for the icing adding more or less milk as needed for consistency.
