Help! I have been canning tomatoes for years. This year I have been
unsuccessful and have become so frustrated trying to figure out what
happened. I boiled utensils and lids; heated jars in oven; everything
hot and clean. I keep jars on my counter top for a couple of days to
make sure everything is alright and two days later they started running
over the top and popping. I thought they were going to explode. Rather
than take any chances, I dumped everything out. All that time and
expense and I don't know why. Can you explain? Much appreciated.
P.S. I also put 1 piece of garlic and sprig of basil in each jar but
I've always done this. A friend of mine who has also been canning for
years has experienced the same problem this year. I did notice that the
lids were a little off center and I had a problem screwing them on.
Other than this I'm at a loss as to what has happened. I think I'll
freeze tomatoes from now on unless I can come up with an answer. Thanks
for any info you can pass along as to what I did wrong.
Sandy

Hi! Could you tell me where I may buy sundried tomatoes in a bag, not a
jar. I live in Scotland and have searched the net, but to no avail,
Regards, Samantha

That's it for now!

Thanks again,

Betsy
