ISO: are appetizers satifying (for wedding reception)

Misc.
I am trying to help a friend plan her wedding reception. And she initially to save on cost is planning on having dessert buffet. Mainly cake/ice cream and a few other dessert items. The reception will about dinner time.
Do you think if a person added a appetizers to the buffet it would be satifying enough for supper. I'm thinking tiny quiches, meatballs, cheeseballs etc.
Does anyone have any hardy ideas?
