ISO: Date Nut Loaf candy

This is a candy that my mother and grandmother made during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season. I only watched them make it. Dates, brown sugar, nuts etc. Cooked on stovetop, stirring like mad. Had to stir until the gloss was gone from the mixture. Then poured out on cheesecloth formed into a log and placed in refrigerator to chill.

Recipe has been lost since mom passed in 1985. I remember this being made since I was a child back in the 50's. Excellent tasting, great memories.
