ISO: Dried Beans vs. Fresh Podded Beans

Misc.
Re: Butter Beans~
I found a great recipe for fava beans but it calls for dried beans. I have fresh podded beans and need to know how to adjust the recipe for "Butter Beans" posted by Ashley Date-Nov 98.
Also, it mentions as an ingredient, 2 'rashers' of bacon. What is a rasher?
A full slice? Thanks for your response. Lee
