GHIRARDELLI FROSTED CHOCOLATE BROWNIES
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 oz. Ghirardelli Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
1/2 cup unsifted flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Dark Chocolate Frosting
By hand, lightly cream butter with sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla, salt. Stir in melted chocolate. Add flour, mixing until smooth, then add nuts. Spread in greased 8 or 9 inch square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. (For extra fudgy brownies, use 8 inch pan or less baking time. For cake-like brownies, use 9 inch pan or longer baking time.) Cool in pan.
Frost with Dark Chocolate Frosting. Cut into squares.
DARK CHOCOLATE FROSTING

Pinch salt
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
In heavy saucepan on low heat, melt broken chocolate with butter, milk, salt. Stir constantly until thick and smooth. Remove from heat.
Mix in sugar and vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread.
Makes 20-25 squares
