ISO: fall river ma. hermits

i am looking for a recipe for Hermits like the ones made in bakeries in fall river in the 50"s..they were spicy and crispy with raisins and sometimes nuts....i particularly remember the ones from Babe Plourde's Bakery on Main st. in fall river....if anyone has a recipe and would be so good as to send post it i would so appreciate it.....thanks in advance if anyone sees this and can reply...
