ISO: Fried Bread

Misc.
Hi, I am new here and I would like to know if anyone knows how to make Fried Bread. I think just the name makes it sounds like something pretty simple. Would I use the basic white bread or maybe a different? Is this something that I can fry in the frying pan on the stove?
I am sorry if these are really stupid questions, it's just that I have never attempted to make this and I am basicaly clueless.
Thank you for any help, Lisa
