ISO: homemade chocolate cake with frosting

Hi everyone,i have a big request for all you great bakers out there.My mom in law is having a dinner and i need a tried and tested rich,moist chocolate cake with a delicious frosting.i live in india and though we have almost all cake ingredients like cocoa,castor sugar,vanilla etc etc,we do not have the ready yellow cake n white cake mixes.I will have to start the cake right from scratch. Please please do share your tried recipes so i can bake a delicious cake fo the dinner.i am also very interested in all other kinds of cakes.Thanks a million We cook great indian food in the house and maybe i could help you all with some authentic dishes too.Thanks Divya
