Recipe: Peanut Butter Hard Tack

PEANUT BUTTER HARD TACK

3 cups white granulated sugar
1 cup Karo syrup, white
1/2 cup water
1 (18 oz) jar Jif peanut butter

Boil sugar, syrup and water together to hard crack stage (300 degrees F on a candy thermometer).

Put peanut butter in iron skillet and pour cooked mixture over top of peanut butter. Mix very slowly until syrup works in.

Pour out on cutting board and snip with scissors; cut fast before candy hardens. Cool.
