ISO: iso:wedding cakes from a mix

My daughter is getting married soon and I will be doing the wedding cake myself. Several years ago I remember that Betty Crocker cake mix (or some other brand) had an address where you would send a request on getting info on how to alter the cake mix so it would be suitable for a wedding cake. The mix box does not have that address any longer. Does anyone know how to alter a mix for a wedding cake. Also, if any one have any words of wisdom or advise, I would appreciate receiving them. Thanks
