ISO: italian fried cookie filled with nuts and raisins then dipped in syrup

i am looking for a recipe for a cookie that our Italian neighbors used to bring my family on Christmas morning. there ere always two types of cookies, one an anise flavored knot that was dipped in honey or syrup, the second a crescent shapped cookie stuffed with nuts and raisins, and may have been deep fried and dipped in honey or syrup. these cookies were part of my childhood and i would love to recreate them for the family. thank you.
