ISO: Japanese Cucumbers - What to do?

Misc.
Thanks for your great web site, just found you today!I have heard that if I try to pickle (or can) japanese cucumbers (the really long ones, about 2 ft long) that they will get mushy because they are not "pickling" cucumbers. Is this true? I have so many, and I don't want to waste them. Anyone try to pickle them, or have recipes that I could use? Need to know how much cucumber, e.g. 2 cups sliced, or weight, because "one" cucumber to me could end up being 3 ft long! Also Thanks in advance for any responce!
