ISO: Making good Homemade Bread

I am a Guy that likes to cook and bake. I have tried so many recipes for homemade bread and really have not found one that I like yet. I don't want a bread that melts like a doughball in your mouth. I love homemade bread for that just baked taste and the biggest thing I like is how it toasts in the toaster. I like an airy bread, I guess as when it toasts it toasts crispy. I hope I have explained it. I know so many of you out there make wonderful bread and can help me.... I am frustrated trying so many that don't turn out. I love both Brown bread and white bread. Can anyone out there share their recipe with me?... I would really appreciate it....Thanks
