ISO: No Candied Fruit Fruitcake?

Dear Peggie
Think we may be looking for the same thing. A friend who has a houseful of Menfolk who hate the candied fruit kind of fruitcake says that they liked one made with dried fruits that they had some years ago but can't find the recipe. Maybe you great cooks out there can help Peggie and Carol (and her friend Sandy) out at the same time.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
PS I am going to try soaking my Turkey in a brine overnite this year. All the food columns seem to be full of recipes for brine and directions.
