ISO: Old Brown Sugar Frosting recipe

Misc.
My fiancee has a heart problem and I try to indulge him when I can. He is almost 60 and his Mom used to make him Spice Cake with Brown Sugar Frosting. He says that the frosting kind of cracked when you touched it. His parents have been dead for years. I am desperate for it and would like to surprise him with it for Thanksgiving.
