ISO: Old Fashioned Chicken Salad
Misc.Hello Everyone!
I am a newbie to this site as of today. I would like to request a recipe for Chicken Salad like they made in the late 1950's.
When I was in high school and we had open campus, so we walked the three blocks to town for lunch if we wanted.
I ate at drug store that served chicken salad sandwiches. The salad had a slight sweetness and celery plus other ingredients in the salad. You could taste the chicken and the added ingredients did not over power the taste of the chicken. I have followed numerous recipes for chicken salad but none taste the same as I remember. I have tried dime-store, cafeteria, old fashioned, recipes of yesteryear and still have not found THE recipe I am looking for. The lady that made the salad every day has long since passed and her family also are gone.
I know someone out there must have a good chicken salad recipe without the added fruits and nuts.
I took one look at your site and fell in love with it at first search. I decided I would join.
I have collected recipes since I was a teenager and I am about to turn 70.
Thanks in advance for your help.
