Hello and welcome - I'm so glad you found us! Regarding the 50's chicken salad that you're looking for, the difference might by in the mayonnaise or it could be that a cooked dressing was used. Sometimes the simpler the recipe the better it is. Years ago I worked part time at a Mrs. Powell's Cinnamon Rolls shop and the customers raved about our tuna salad sandwiches. It always made us chuckle because the tuna salad had literally 2 ingredients - canned tuna and Hellman's Mayonnaise - not one other thing! The rolls are what made the sandwiches so good - they were made from the same dough used to make the cinnamon rolls - soft, sweet and eggy and so good!
I'll explore some of my old recipe booklets to look for any other clues and I hope other visitors will join this quest.
