ISO: Questions from 1st Time Freezer Cooker

Misc.
I am new to the freezer cooking, it has to be easier than coming home from a long day, staring at the freezer/fridge/pantry and decide what I can whip up quickly to avoid the "what's for dinner...I'm starving" routine...my question-after my meals are done, do I need to wait for them to cool off before freezing? Then, what do I freeze them in? I use Lock-n-Locks...is this suitable? Or do I buy something special for freezing?

Thanks in advance for help!
