ISO: Re: ISO: How to rid garden of ants.

Misc.

We use this "organic" method to get rid of ants--boiling water. I'm not sure how close the mounds are to your vegetable plants, but if their not too close, just pour the boiling water on the mound. This will kill the ants. It sometimes doesn't permanently remove them, but they will move away from your vegetable garden where you can then use a chemical treatment if necessary. We have to use this method around our pond as we don't want any chemicals hurting our fish. In Texas fire ants are a TERRIBLE problem! There is a big study going on now (for 2 years) throught Texas A&M to find a remedy. I hope this helps!
