ISO: Re: ISO: How to rid garden of ants.

Misc.

Hi again Nancy! I just found a bunch
more ideas on how to get rid of ants!!
here goes!

use an ant barrier, which is a sticky substance that you
wipe around the garden area. The ants can't cross this
barrier. Ant barrier glues are found in garden stores
everywhere.
============
A non-toxic citrus spray called "Bugs R Gone".
The citrus oil is sprayed around the plant area.
-==============
Plant onions around the house, they repel ants.
Plant a few sprigs of mint within the garden.
Place whole cloves around the area, as they repel ants.
A glass of vinegar at the edge of the garden bed will
repel ants.
Sprinkle salt onto the ants and around the area.
Combine a mixture of 3 parts water to 1 part tabasco.
Spray the plants and area.
Form a paste of orange peels by blending them with
water and place the paste around the area.
Cucumber skins placed around the perimeter repels the
ants.
Sprinkle dry grits around the area. The ants will eat
it and the grits expand in their stomachs.
Place cayenne pepper around the perimeter.
Draw a line of chalk around the area. They will avoid
the chalk.
Sprinkle baby powder along the border.
