ISO: salty dill pickles

Misc.
I canned close to 60 jars of dill pickles, using 5 different recipes to see which I liked the best. Well, i opened 3 different jars and they are all way too salty. i used canning salt, followed directions, etc......could it be because I used soft water? (pellet salt softener) I know the potato trick in cooking, do you think that would work after i open a jar, slice a spud in there? Or how about pouring off half the brine and adding boiled vinegar/hard water, let it cool and refrigerate to use? I will have wasted LOTS of time and a good cuke crop!
