Recipe: Sopapilla Cheesecake - Here's something like Taco Bueno's Cheesecake Chimichangas
Desserts - PastriesI love Taco Bueno's cheesecake chimichangas! So, my mom got this recipe from a friend that made it for a party and asked for the recipe. It's actually from Pillsbury. Its originally made with cinnamon on top but sprinkle powdered sugar on it instead. I plan on making it this weekend. Well here it is....
SOPAPILLA CHEESECAKE
(taste like ones at Taco Bueno)
2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar - divided into 1 cup and 1/2 cup
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 (8 ounce) cans of original crescent rolls
1 stick real butter, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the cream cheese with 1 cup of the sugar and the vanilla extract until smooth
Place one can of the crescent rolls (unrolled) in the bottom of a 9x13 ungreased cake pan. Smooth the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent rolls. Place the second can of the crescent rolls (unrolled) on top of the cream cheese Drizzle the melted butter of the top of the crescent rolls
Mix the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar with the 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and then sprinkle over the butter.
Bake at 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes.
It is good served hot, but I like it refrigerated.
