My wife and I use the frozen bread dough {Rhodes} from the grocery store. Take a frozen loaf and let it set out for about an hour to partially thaw out.
Then take a serrated knife and cut the loaf in half. Take the halves and set them on a cookie sheet on the flat side. Cover and thaw in the fridge.
When thawed take out and let rise and bake as per time and temp on package.
When done, and cooled, cut the top off and take out the inside out with a fork.
We have used this many times and works great. Especially with chili or thick potato soup or anykind of soup that is kind of thick. Hope this works out for you. Have a nice day
