ISO: Sour cherry jam

My mother used to made sour cherry jam "cooking" it under glass in the sun. I remember it took about a week to make, constantly wiping the condensation from the glass. Since she passed away, so has her recipe. If anyone has a recipe for this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
